At St. Aloysius School music plays an essential role in each child's education. Students are provided a wide-range of opportunities to sing, play instruments, dance, listen to music, compose, and act.
Our curriculum embraces the philosophy that “a good understanding of the arts grows out of at least three modes of knowledge ---creative (i.e. performance), historical, and analytical.
VBS Children enjoy Music and Movement
Yearly performance opportunities include:
  • St. Aloysius Singers (Grades 6-8). These award-winning choirs sing for all-school masses, Grandparents Day and for other special events.
  • St. Aloysius School Beginner and Advanced Band- Band participation begins in Grade 4 and is an extra-curricular activity. The Band presents two concerts and also plays for Grandparents Day.
  • Advent Festival of Readings and Carols – Presented annually by the 4th Grade Classes, this has become a tradition in our community. This year’s Advent Festival will be presented on the Vigil of St. Nicholas, December 5th.
  • Blessing of the Animals - prepared and presented annually by 5th Grade on the Feast of St. Francis of Assisi.
  • Grandparents Day Celebration – Each year the ENTIRE student body (K-8) performs in a musical revue for our Grandparents. Traditionally, the 8th Grade Class is featured in a “mini”-musical. Past musical presentations have been: Annie, The Lion King, South Pacific, and The Sound of Music.
