Please check calendar for spiral dates and testing dates. Daily homework is to be written in assignment pad. |

Class Content
The fifth grade math content is based on the Core Knowledge Curriculum. The textbook series is McDougall Littel- "Middle School Math"- Book 1. |

Class Procedures
1) Problem of the Day- Students complete assigned problems in notebook. The first student to complete problems correctly wins a prize.
2) Notes- Students copy teacher notes into binder. These notes should be read before beginning homework.
3) Homework- Homework is assigned approxmately 2-3 times per week. If homework is not completed, a work deficiency will be issued. If student is having difficulty completing homework, and parents have tried to help, a parent may sign each incomplete problem and the assignment will count as being completed.
4)Spirals- Spirals are skill review sheets issued on Tuesday and due on Tuesday. Spirals are graded for accuracy.
5)Quizzes and Tests- These are written on test calendar in hallway. Students should also write dates in assignment pad. Tests are posted as soon as the dates are determined.
6)Skills Packs- After the unit test, skills packs are given to students who do not show mastery on certain test skills. Skills packs must be completed, signed and returned by the due date. |
