6th Grade Math Happenings...
  • Chapter 2 on decimals is nearly complete. Students will learn how to compute averages with mean, median, and mode (Ch. 3) and then move to fractions (Ch. 4 and 5)!
MATH
Students have been working with decimals after finishing number patterns. The fisrt nine weeks is quickly coming to a close. Here is an overview of the rest of the 1st nine weeks and beginning of the 2nd.
  • Number sense, patterns, and algebraic thinking.
  • Decimal operations.
  • Data and statistics.
  • Will begin number patterns and fractions.
  • Fraction work will include:
  • Prime and composite numbers
  • Greatest common factor
  • Least common denominator
  • Adding, subtracting, multiplying, and dividing fractions.
  • Orderning fractions.

Important things to remember:
  • ABSENCES: Bring an excuse from home or doctor when returning from any absence.
  • Students are responsible for finding a "homework buddy." This "buddy" will be responsible for gathering the absent student's assignments.
