The Church teaches us that it is a good and holy thing to pray for one another – both for the living and the dead.  Pious works like fasting and almsgiving may also be prayerfully offered to God for our own good and the good of others.  Mass Intentions are a beautiful opportunity to offer prayers and alms to God in honor or remembrance of those we loveWhen a Mass intention request is made,  your loved one will be remembered at a St. Aloysius Mass during the Prayers of the Faithful.

Mass Intention Procedures

  • Each household may schedule five (5) Mass intentions a month at a time--three (3) weekend (Saturday, Sunday) and 2 weekday (Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday).

    • A single intention is accepted for Masses on Wednesdays & Thursdays.

    • Multiple intentions are accepted for Masses on Tuesdays & Fridays.

    • No intentions are scheduled on Mondays.

    • One weekend Mass will accept up to eight intentions. The rest will accept a single intention. The intention for one of the weekend Masses will be “for all parishioners” with no additional intentions accepted for that Mass.

    • Only two Masses in the same week (one weekend & one weekday) may be booked for an individual listed on the intention.

  • The Mass intention stipend is $5 per Mass. You can pay via credit card through our Mass Intention Online portal below or cash or check. If paying with a check, make it payable to St. Aloysius Catholic Church.

  • Mass Intentions are scheduled in a six-month period or six months out from the current date.

  • Intentions will be accepted on a first-come, first-served basis in the order which Mass intentions are received in the church office. We’ll do our best to fulfill Mass Intention requests as submitted. If we cannot schedule the date you choose, we’ll schedule the intention as close to the requested date and time as possible, and will notify you of the date via mail, email, or phone.

  • Sanctuary Flowers may be purchased in memory or in honor of someone. Altar flowers, which are placed next to the Crucifix, are $125 per weekend/feast day and flowers for the Blessed Mother are $100  per weekend/feast day. Sanctuary flowers are not accepted during Advent or Lent due to the nature of the liturgical season. We do take donations for Christmas and Easter flowers to offset the costs. The donations can be made in memory of a loved one or in honor of someone. The names of all flowers made in memory or in honor of someone will be printed in the bulletin.

  • Mass intentions and sanctuary flowers are all recorded in the Daily Mass Record book and printed in the bulletin. Once Mass Intentions are printed in the bulletin, we cannot accept or change intentions for the dates listed in the book and bulletin.

  • If Mass is cancelled the day & time a Mass intention is scheduled, the intention will be moved to the nearest available date.
